Moondance is one of my earlier digital collages, created in June 2024, and perhaps that’s part of why it still feels so special to me. Two years later, it remains one of the pieces I’m proudest of—and one I have hanging in my own home.

​

The moon appears often in my work, but here I was especially drawn to the graceful movement of the women when I placed them together. They seem to be orbiting the moon in some mysterious celestial dance while, at the same time, becoming crescents of the moon themselves.

​

I’m not sure I understood all of that when I created it. I simply knew the figures belonged together and that something about their movement felt magical. Sometimes that’s enough.
