We often assume the people closest to us experience life the way we do. Yet even when we share the same beginnings, we can inhabit entirely different emotional, intellectual, and spiritual worlds. We grow beneath the same roof, shaped by the same family, memories, and history, yet each of us sees through a uniquely personal lens.

This collage was inspired by a conversation with my sister. We've spent a lifetime sharing the same roots while often arriving at very different ways of understanding the world. I tend to ask questions, explore complexity, and find meaning in uncertainty. She finds peace in simplicity, optimism, and moving forward.

The chick and the owl aren't symbols of right and wrong or wisdom and innocence. They simply represent two different ways of being.

 

The egg reminds us of our shared beginnings, while the small cage suggests something deeper than confinement. It represents relationship—the invisible bonds of family, memory, and love that remain even when our inner worlds grow far apart.

I've always believed my sister and I live in the same different worlds. We don't always understand each other's perspective, but we've never stopped loving one another. Sometimes the greatest act of understanding isn't changing someone else's view of the world—it's honoring that it exists.
