Flying Home

First Created: June 2026
Medium: Digital collage (PowerPoint)
Artist Note

Some works begin with an idea. This one began with a feeling.
I found myself existing in two places at once—tethered and floating away, grounded and flying home.
Part of me remained connected to the child who first stepped into this world. Another part longed to return to something even older, freer, and impossible to name.
The tether isn't there to keep anyone from flying. It's a reminder that love can connect without possessing.
The shoreline, the birds, the cairn, and the open sky each became symbols of different parts of myself: Taurus and Gemini, earth and air, staying and becoming.
Perhaps home isn't a place we travel to. Perhaps it's the place within us that has been calling us back all along.
Question
What part of yourself is trying to come home?
