Artist Note
This piece sits in that uneasy space between safety and aliveness. Freedom sounds so simple in theory—just walk out the door, just let go, just say yes—but in reality it is layered with memory, obligation, and fear.
Here, the image becomes a kind of inner landscape where those questions live: What have I been taught to call “security” that is really a cage? Where am I hovering on the edge of a choice, not quite ready to leap—but no longer able to stay where I am?
Contemplating Freedom is less about the dramatic moment of escape and more about the quiet, honest pause right before it—the breath where you realize that no one is coming to grant you permission.
The key is already in your hand, even if your heart is still catching up. Freedom is not just out there, in some distant horizon. It begins in the smallest internal shift: the moment you admit what you truly long for.
What kind of freedom is your heart quietly asking for right now?
This piece is a living work. What you see here is one version in time.
