The Faces of Mental Illness

First Created: 2025
Medium: Digital collage (PowerPoint)
Artist Note

The Faces of Mental Illness is a deeply personal work. Throughout my life, I have lived with depression, anxiety, and OCD. I don’t say “suffered from” — because they have also been gifts that shaped who I am. Learning to cope so they don’t control me has been a lifelong journey, and I am grateful to be where I am now.

This collage is both my story and a wider call to remember that behind every label of “mental illness” is a human face, a life, a voice that longs to be heard.

Question

When you meet someone living with mental illness, can you look beyond the diagnosis to truly see the person?
This piece is a living work. What you see here is one version in time.
