Call of the Sirens

First Created: 2024

Medium: Digital collage (PowerPoint)

Artist Note

The ancient sirens lured sailors with songs that promised beauty, truth, and escape — only to pull them into the depths. In Call of the Sirens, their voices take form as whispers on the wind, blurring sea and sky, myth and reality. The women become half-bird, half-human, echoing the old stories while asking us to reflect on our own temptations: What voices do we follow, and at what cost?

The stark white boat, luminous as a Greek cathedral, represents innocence, faith, and the human longing for safe passage. Yet it too is caught in the song, tilting toward surrender.

Question

Do you hear the call as a warning — or as an invitation?
